Q: Which formats are available?
A: You can buy e-books in three formats from this website and read them on your devices.
If you have Amazon Kindle:
- Mobi format will work best on small black and white Kindle screens. It's a small file which doesn't contain any formatting.
- PDF format is also compatible, and it looks just like our books.
If you have an iPad:
- ePub format is the simple and light file that you can open ineBooks application. It's small and doesn't contain any formatting and you can keep it on your bookshelf.
- PDF format is also compatible, and it looks just like our books. You can open it in an eBooks application as well and keep it on your bookshelf.
If you have an Android based handset or a tablet PC or any other desktop or laptop computer:
- choose PDF format, it is the most universalone and looks just like our books.
- if the PDF doesn't open on your device, you may need to download and install a free Adobe Acrobat Reader. You can download it from here:
Q: Where can I buy your eBooks?
A: You can buy eBooks directly from us from our website, and from other retailers’ websites such as Amazon. If you buy from somewhere other than www.nottinghilleditions.com, please check format, compatibility with your reading device, and terms and conditions at those websites.
Q: If I buy a hardback from another website such as Amazon, can I still get a free eBook?
A: No. You can only receive a free eBook when on offer from our website.
Q: Can I return an eBook?
A: If we supply an eBook with technical bugs, please contact us at contact@nottinghilleditions.com and we will offer technical support or supply you with a replacement or refund. In general, eBooks are non-returnable.
Q: How do I download an eBook to my electronic reader?
A: 1. USB cable
Just click on the format most suitable for your device and download the file of your choice to your computer. Connect your device to your computer using a USB cable and transfer the file across to the device, just like any other document.
Note for Kindle users: You should copy the file into the "documents" directory on Kindle.
Note for iPad and iPhone users: You will need to add the file to the iTunes library first and then synchronize your device with iTunes.
2. Email
If your device can receive emails, you may choose to email the file to your device. Kindle users who wish to use the built-in @kindle.com email address may have to authorize the sender's email address first.
3. Internet Browser
If your device has an internet browser you can simply log onto the www.nottinghilleditions.com website, and download the e-book from the Profile section directly onto your device.
4. Other means
Depending on your device, you may be also able to transfer the file using third-party applications like Dropbox.
Q: When can I download my eBook?
A: If you have purchased a standalone eBook, you should be able to download it from the order confirmation page. If you have navigated away from that page, please log onto your account and click on "Profile" button in the top right hand corner on the website. You will find all your e-books in the e-book section.
Q: If I buy a hardback, when can I download my free eBook?
A: You will need to register with us in order for us to give you a link to download your eBook. Once your hardback edition has been dispatched from our warehouse, we will send you a link to your free eBook download.
Q: Is there VAT on eBooks?
A: Yes. VAT is always included in the price.
Q: Can I buy eBooks from you if I live outside the UK?
A: Yes.
Q: Can I buy an eBook as a gift for someone.
A: Yes, please let us know the email address of the person to whom you would like us to send the download link. If you are buying a hardback for someone, we will send them the link to the free eBook. You cannot send a free eBook to a different recipient.
