This event has already taken place.

Host: how to: Academy
Location: To be confirmed
Speaker: Harry Mount

DVD’s? 1980’s? Those ant-like squiggles have defeated us all at some point. The mis-used dashes’ and apostrophe’s, rogue “quotation” marks, random colons: crazy semi-colons; excessive exclamations!!! What are the rules?

In this interactive workshop, Harry Mount – head of the grammar police – will take us back to basics. You will leave knowing the difference between ‘A woman without her man is nothing’ and ‘A woman: without her, man is nothing’.

Harry Mount is the author of Amo, Amas, Amat and All That: How to be a Latin Lover, A Lust for Windowsills, and How England Made the English: From Hedgerows to Heathrow.

He is a regular contributor to the Spectator, Daily Mail and Daily Telegraph, and has appeared on Celebrity University Challenge and Any Questions.
