Host: London Literature Festival
Location: Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, London SE1 8XX
Speaker: Nuruddin Farah
Nuruddin Farah is one of the key voices about contemporary Somalia. In his new novel, Crossbones, Jeebleh returns to Mogadishu with his journalist son-in-law Malik. Elsewhere his brother, Ahl, searches for his stepson in pirate country. What they find is a country of shadowy white-robed figures, and an uneasy calm between one battle and the next. Farah discusses the book and the politics of Somalia at this event.
