The Blenheim Palace Literary Festival at Woodstock reaches a climax this weekend with appearances by renowned journalists, Sir Max Hastings and Peter Snow, former cabinet minister Baroness Shephard, and singer and songwriter Beverley Craven.
Hastings discusses his new book, Catastrophe: Europe Goes to War, a fresh look at Europe on the verge of war 100 years ago, while Snow takes us back to 1814 when Britain burned the US White House.
Shephard, a junior minister in the Thatcher administration and cabinet minister in the Major administration, takes a look at the legacy of Margaret Thatcher.
There will be lots of performance at the festival again this year including theatre and an appearance by Beverly Craven, who will talk about her life and sing some of her songs.
Altogether, more than 100 writers and public figures will gather at Blenheim Palace and in Woodstock for this year’s festival between Wednesday, September 18, and Sunday, September 22.
