Jacqueline Rose and Brian Klug will be at the shop to discuss the writings of Ahad Ha'am, recently collected in Words of Fire (Notting Hill Editions), selected and introduced by Brian Klug. Ahad Ha'am (Hebrew for 'one of the people'), was the pseudonym of Asher Ginzberg, a leading light of the secular Jewish Enlightenment of the late 19th Century and a stern critic of the political Zionism of Theodor Herzl. Brian Klug is Senior Research Fellow in Philosophy at St Benet's Hall, Oxford, and the author of several books on Judaism and Zionism. Jacqueline Rose, Professor of Humanities at Birkbeck and regular contributor to the LRB, is internationally known for her writing on feminism, psychoanalysis, literature and the politics and ideology of Israel-Palestine.More Information
